Oliver & Company

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference.

Welcome to blog post #2! This one is dedicated to Our January Family Movie Night! A few years ago I decided I wanted to be purposeful in our family time and make traditions my kids would remember. So along came themed movie nights! First it was just Friday night pizza and movies but then Friday got busy so now it is a monthly Themed Dinner & a Movie! Our entire night is themed around whatever movie we choose!

January Family Dinner & A Movie

This month we did Oliver & Company! We went to Dollar Tree and bought all kinds of dog & cat bowls to serve the food. We even got the two littlest kids their own dog dishes to eat from and they truly got a kick out of this! I sat up the bar with dinner, buffet style! I included movie theater snacks. I printed a menu and framed it, gave the littles movie tickets!

While Daddy gave little bug her Saturday night bubble bath, I got busy in the kitchen!

Menu:

Francis’ Fruit Salad, Dodgers Dogs, Tito’s Taters, Rita’s Roasted Veggies, and Jenny’s Birthday Cake! I also included Oliver’s Orange Julius & Big Apple Juice to drink!

Dodger’s Dogs & Tito’s Taters

I grilled our hot dogs in our air fryer, which has a grill setting! The taters are simply steak cut fries with season salt on them!

Rita’s Roasted Veggies:

California Mixed Veggies Roasted with garlic salt and pepper!

I failed to get a picture of Francis’s Fruit salad, but it included:

  • fresh strawberries

  • fresh blueberries

  • grapes

  • mandarin oranges

  • peaches

  • lemon juice

  • cool whip

Big Apple Juice was Sparkling Apple Juice in small personal bottles. Here is the recipe for Oliver’s Orange Julius:

  • 12 oz frozen orange juice concentrate

  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 cup ice

I had a very busy day so Jenny’s Birthday Cake was actually store bought cupcakes and they were yummy!

If you want to recreate this, you can grab my menu and the movie ticket in my Esty shop! They are customizable, and emailed to you for quick and easy download and print!

You do not have to put forth this much effort for your family to make memories but I can assure you it is so much fun! Be on the watch for a blog about our January Hot Cocoa Bar & Game Night coming soon!

Be Blessed

Dani Leigh!
